Yesterday’s Motherlode column started it’s own tiny tsunami, if there is such a thing. Christer has been diagnosed with a brain tumour, and while we have been assured of an excellent outcome, it is still rattling, as you might imagine.
Readers responded. You are amazing. All of you. I’m at over a hundred emails, and they’re still coming. I’m overwhelmed, and so are the kids. He and Pammy have some tough hurdles ahead of them, but the outpouring of love and support is unbelievable. A friend of his since kindergarten, Alex, set up a GoFundMe to help off set the bills for surgery not covered by OHIP. I can’t thank her enough, because there will be costs and I was just trying to figure out how to suck them all up to let the kids cope with the physical healing. I can’t suck them all up. People have helped so, so much.
I’m not sure where we go from here, but I know we go forward with the love and support of so many of you.
