Year end round-ups are usually dumb…

…but this one, from the City Log at the Toronto Star, is hilarious.

Still in the mood? Check out this obit, perhaps the year’s best.

More? Check out the best corrections to run in the New York Times this year.

I’m sure there will be more. As Maggie and I ring in the new year, I’ll keep you posted….

Flathead’s obit could be the best one ever …..

  2. I vote for Flathead too. He reminds me of a gravestone I once saw in an old pioneer graveyard. It said something to the effect of (insert name here) “never killed a man that didn’t need killing.”

Incidentally, if Maggie is sitting on your keyboard, my new book says that it’s because she understands that humans have superior technology and it is her way of disrupting all communications with the outside world. If one sits on your keyboard while the other one kneads you, the end is near.

Hey – happy new year, everyone.

It seems I blinked and missed it. Ah well, that’s me: always just that little bit late to the party…

I wonder what 2013 will bring, with no more apocalypse in sight?

    • My understanding was that THIS was the apocalypse the Mayans were referring to. Funny how Fox was the only company to use that prediction as fact. And, as has been known to happen before, they got the date wrong. And the prediction.

It’s not easy being wrong all the time.

Happy New Year, Lorraine, and everyone. May 2013 be full of joy (whoever she is) and happiness. I’ve pretty much given up on wealth.

      • Padraig says:

Yeah, and health looks like a non-starter too.

A Happy New Year to everyone, nevertheless and/or notwithstanding.

  4. For those of you who wonder why the ‘Mericans found themselves teetering on the brink of a cliff of fiscality.

  5. Kerry says:

Insolent lout ! Thou hast drawn the Ire of the Queen of Lorrainia upon thee . Flee , flee before thou art rent asunder . Your pitiful flesh flayed by the power of her quill . Your brain jellied by her razor wit . Her faithful minions descending upon your corpse like a murder of crows . Verily , the Queen is capable of great mercy . Maggot , grovel before your true Queen . Await thee upon the queens judgement …….

Your mother was a hamster and your father smelled of eldeberries

  7. DJW says:

Is this an attempted coup d’état?

Or is CBNTF just rabble rousing?

Just need to know if I need to put my funny hat on.

  8. David Taylor says:

Just asking… Jo-Jo’s mentions are less fequent these days; did I miss something?

    • Lorraine Lorraine says:

Maggie just had a better agent, and negotiated ten mentions to every one of JoJo’s. JoJo thanks you for asking after her, however.
